The Bordeaux Bioinformatics Center (CBiB) is a bioinformatics facility that implements services for the analysis of biological data - genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, etc. The CBiB team is positioned at the crossroads between life sciences and computer science / statistics. Our specialty is the analysis, integration and interpretation of "omics" data.
Thus, we offer state-of-the-art services for the processing of these data, their analysis, interpretation and dissemination. To do this, the CBiB brings together the necessary skills in bioinformatics, bioanalysis and computer science. From a few samples to several tens of thousands, the Bordeaux Bioinformatics Center offers complete services for the analysis of DNA, RNA, proteins and metabolites and, more recently, microscopy images.
These core activities rely on an appropriate infrastructure in terms of computing and storage infrastructure. The facility is equipped with computing and storage resources that are secure and comply with international standards, in line with regional equipment (the Aquitaine Computing Mesocentre - MCIA), the national Bioinformatics infrastructure (Investissement d'Avenir, French Institute of Bioinformatics - IFB ) and the European ELIXIR Infrastructure.
The CBiB is a platform recognized at the national level by the IBiSA label and is a node of the national distributed infrastructure in bioinformatics, IFB (French Institute of Bioinformatics); IFB is the French node of the European Infrastructure ESFRI ELIXIR.
Services offered by the CBiB:
Omics data analysis and personalized advice for bioinformatics projects.
- Implementation of omics data analysis methods, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence.
- Development of compute infrastructure and software ressources for the research community, especially for the analysis of omics data.
- Creation and maintenance of biological databases.
- Workshops and trainings on different bioinformatics topics.
The CBiB is a partner of the MCIA (Mesocentre de Calcul Intensif Aquitain).
The CBiB is attached to the research team "Computational Biology and Bioinformatics"of the IBGC (UMR CNRS 5095)
Since 2012 CBiB is certified ISO 9001:2015 and NFX 50-900 by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance.
